Jacob Number 2

Well, it would be a punishable crime if I were to forget about the Jacob (number 2) family!
I must say that my day down south turned out to be one to remember...but not because of what one might think. Indeed, the Jacob family was beautiful, followed direction well, and of course...nailed every shot. No...the reason this family was so memorable was because they were so HILARIOUS! What a great group of people with amazing personalities. I don't think I stopped laughing for a second and as you can see...neither did they!
By the way...don't ask why dad is laughing in the field photo!
See you soon Jacob family! Double the trouble...double the fun!

Ryan Marie Dockter-Gone too soon.

Well, my friends in blogville...Paurus Design has suffered a terrible tragedy this weekend as one of our most loyal blog watchers and photography mentees has passed away due to the irresponsible and inhumane actions of a cowardly and disgusting person who should not be classified as a human.
You will have to excuse me as I stumble through this emotional posting, but I hope you all gain something from it and by all means PLEASE leave comments if you knew Ryan or were touched by her story.
I appologize for not getting to the last few postings on the blog (Jacob number 2, Brittney G) and promise to get those up as soon as I can.

Ryan Marie Dockter spent the better part of her life explaining to many the uniqueness of her name. While shy to some, Ryan was a free-spirited rock-star to those who knew her best. Her zest for life was intoxicating and her silly nature and honesty touched many. Her amazing brown eyes saw the world from a different point of view and her ability to look on the bright side of anything was inspiring. Ryan laughed at anything and her sense of humor and sarcasm made many giggle with her.
The class of 1996 from Jamestown High School has suffered many losses over our years. It has been our most tragic to see the senseless act that caused Ryan's death. While many of the details are yet to publicly be released it is known that while out with friends this weekend Ryan's trust was so viciously taken advantage of. We may never know the whole story but as much as we know from family and other friends, Ryan was drugged with high amounts of PCP which assumptions have been made that it was somehow slipped in her drink.
I have known Ryan for the better part of my life and am still in disbelief about this tragedy. It was just the other day that I talked to her and shared her excitement about the prospects of her training with me to start her own business of photography.
A talented life...gone too soon.
We will miss you always, you will continue to inspire us from above.
All my love,
Jill

Jacob Number 1

On the most beautiful day of August, I was treated with the presence of the Jacob family! Our family session lasted more than most, but it was due to their incredible photogenic-ness and great spirits! I literally could have put one hundred photos on this blog posting, because every single one was amazing! But, this is why we call the blog posting a "tickle of teasers" to get you super pumped for your proof book to make its way in the mail!
I want to thank the Jacob family for the incredible time...your home was amazing and each one of your personalities was memorable! Thank you for the unbelievable spread of food and the relaxing break on the front porch! You guys rocked it! See you soon in VC!

Scott J.

Scott was the second senior we shot on our super adventurous photo shoot that was on location in south central North Dakota. By channeling his inner Abercrombie and Fitch supermodel, we were able to extend his shooting time, chase away the exhaustion, and catch some amazing shots! Props to my new friend Scott. And don't let anyone tell you it was his brothers idea for the paintball shot. He may have shot you up with the paint gun...but it was THIS professionals shots that counted the most. (man...sometimes these entry's get a little corny!) Haha ask his uncle about corn.
Thanks for the great shoot! See you and your super-glamourously-amazing family soon!

Brittney J.

The Paurus Ronday-voose packed it up and traveled out to the south central part of the state for an incredible day of shooting. One of the sessions of the day was the senior snap fest of the devastatingly beautiful Brittney J.
Brittney rocked it out for me even when she was clearly tired of a full day of shooting. By the very small sampling of the following images, you can all see what a natural she is! Thanks Brittney for the amazing time...your smile and your constant laugh were infections and your family made me feel at home! Hope you can make it up to VC to rock it out again in the studio!
And remember...once a country girl....always a country girl!

Billy- Take THREE!

Billy came back to the studio for the last of his senior sessions. If you remember, he was the FIRST senior to be photographed for the 2007 season...and has been a certified member of the Paurus Design Street Team since then!
We wanted to have a little fun with this session and played up the high fashion style that I am known for. We even took advantage of the NEW STUDIO which is still under construction. It made for some amazing backdrops! It always helps us photographer type people when the model....well...should actually be a professional model if they wanted to. From what I hear from the gossip line here in Valley City, that's what Mr. Billy is currently got cooking. We hope that our sweet style of photography and your amazing personality achieve such a goal.
Props to our biggest fan and Paurus Design Missionary....Billy!

Matt M.

Matt's Facebook page just so happens to say for occupation that he saves people for a living, so obviously we knew that this guy needed to be portrayed in a way that reflected his super-hero status. Like any other guy during his senior session, we had to drop his girlfriends name a few times to get the tough guy to smile.
The first image was one that had been floating around in my mind for a while. I'm just glad this satyric humorist was kind enough NOT to turn it into a Carl's Jr. Commercial. (google paris hilton carls jr.) and you will see what we mean! HA!
Its pretty incredible for a guy to have in two and a half hours a "sweet" truck, bow-hunting, his dog, football, and lights and sirens. If we had a lazy-boy and a fully stocked fridge...he may have never left!
Thanks to Matt and his AMAZING mom...another certified member of the Paurus Design Street Team!

Saving lives and making the world a better place just by being in it-Thank you Matt

Brandon R.

Is it just me or is everyone in Valley City, North Dakota really, really, really good looking? I would like to quote one of my all time favorite movies for Brandon as I pretend to be him saying, "I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is...I caught my reflection in a spoon while I was eating my cereal, and I remember thinking "wow, you're ridiculously good looking, maybe you could do that for a career.""
We had a great time with Brandon and his mom. Too bad for Brandon that I decided I won't be his friend anymore after he kept dropping hints that his mom and I were OLD! Check yourself!!!
I guess I could forgive him...He did rock the hizzouse on his photo shoot! (see I'm down with the young kid lingo!) haha just kidding!
Thanks Brandon!
